About this notebook

JC Village is kept by Nora Pell. She writes the way a parish notice used to be written: short, dated, and willing to say when nothing much happened. The site is a record of ordinary civic life, the lane and the hall, not a shop and not a campaign.

The notebook started because small facts were slipping. A hall booking lived in one person’s head. A broken step was mentioned twice and then forgotten. Writing them down in one place means the next person does not have to ask around.

Nora does not speak for a council, a church, or a residents’ association. If a note is wrong, send the correction. Pages stay up only while they are still useful, and they are rewritten rather than decorated.
